Hey there! As a senior in high school, getting your senior photos taken is a big deal! You’ll want to remember this momentous occasion for the rest of your life, so it’s important to find the best senior photographer in Massachusetts for you. But with so many options out there, it can be tough to choose. That’s why we’re here to help! In this blog post, we’ll give you some friendly tips on how to find the best senior photographer in Massachusetts.
First things first, think about what kind of photography style you love! Do you prefer candid shots or posed ones? Are you into natural lighting or studio lighting? Do you want a traditional look or something more modern? By knowing what you want, you can narrow down your search to photographers who specialize in that style.
Next, ask your friends for recommendations! They may know of a great photographer who they’ve worked with before. Plus, you can check out their photos and get an idea of the photographer’s style.
If you’re not sure where to start, try doing a simple Google search for “best senior photographers in Massachusetts” or search Instagram hashtags like #MassachusettsSeniorPhotographer. You’ll get a list of photographers in your area. Check out their websites and social media pages to see their portfolios.
Once you’ve narrowed down your search to a few photographers who have a style that you like, reach out to them and ask for their availability and pricing. Make sure to ask about their experience working with seniors and what their packages include.
It’s also important to think about how you want your senior session to “flow.” Do you want to take photos in multiple locations? How about outfit changes? Do you want to include props? Make sure the photographer you choose can accommodate your vision.
Finally, before making a final decision, read reviews from other clients. You can find reviews on the photographer’s website, Google, or Facebook. Reading reviews can give you an idea of the photographer’s professionalism, customer service, and the quality of their work.
In conclusion, finding the best senior photographer in Massachusetts is totally doable! By deciding on the photography style you love, asking for recommendations, doing a simple search, narrowing down your search, thinking about how you want your senior session to “flow,” and reading reviews, you’ll find the perfect photographer for you. Good luck, and have fun!
If you will need your senior pictures for your yearbook, you’ll want to have them taken the summer before your senior year or the autumn of your senior year. Do keep in mind that you should contact me as SOON as possible to schedule. I recommend booking at least 4 months in advance. In other words, you should ideally have your session scheduled by April or May of your junior year. However, I very often have clients pre-book their sessions as early as an entire YEAR in advance. This is because they want to make sure they secure a prime spot.
Many of my clients ask “Which month IS a prime spot for senior photos?” Overall, my high school senior ladies prefer late July, August, or early September for their pictures. On the other hand, I personally prefer late September or October! It’s consistently less humid, less sticky, less buggy, and more golden :-). If you’re booking at the last minute and can’t get the date you want, there is also an option to book a sunrise session or mid-day session. In addition, you should also absolutely add your name to my waitlist.
