Lyla | Autumn Senior Pictures

Posted in: Seniors

Autumn is a beautiful time for senior pictures, and I recently had the pleasure of photographing Lyla, a soon-to-be graduate from the class of 2024. She traveled all the way from New Hampshire to the South Shore of Massachusetts just for her session! If you are new to my blog, welcome! I’m Christina Runnals, a senior portrait photographer specializing in photography that is light-filled and natural. If you’d like to learn more about my senior packages and book your own senior session, head to the homepage of my website now.

Lyla has absolutely stunning long, straight, auburn hair that added a touch of elegance to every shot. Throughout the session, she wore three different outfits that showcased her personal style and interests. First, she wore a gorgeous chocolate brown velvet dress that highlighted her natural beauty. Then she changed into jeans paired with a blue and white floral shirt blouse, giving her a chic and effortless look. Lastly, she wore a Southern New Hampshire University sweatshirt, which was a meaningful choice as she has committed to attending the university for soccer.

What made this session even more special was that Lyla’s older sister, Ella, had also taken her senior pictures with me in the past. It was wonderful to see Lyla and photograph her too! The whole family came along for support, and we even managed to capture some heartwarming family photos during the session.

As for the weather, it was a bit unpredictable. The day turned out to be quite cloudy, but luckily, the rain held off. This created the perfect soft and natural lighting for Lyla’s autumn senior pictures, giving them a luxurious feel. We were also lucky enough to have some bursts of sunlight that added a beautiful glow to her shots. The overall combination of light and natural surroundings truly enhanced Lyla’s features and made her shine even more.

To add a fun and personal touch to the session, Lyla brought along a soccer ball as a prop. It represented her passion for the sport and added a candid element to some of the shots. These playful and spontaneous moments captured Lyla’s true personality and made the session even more memorable.

In conclusion, Lyla’s autumn senior pictures were a wonderful experience filled with luxury, light, natural beauty, and candid moments. Despite the cloudy weather, we managed to create stunning images that highlighted Lyla’s unique style and showcased her exciting journey as she prepares to graduate. It was an honor to capture such a special milestone for Lyla and her family, and I’m grateful to have been a part of this incredible session.

When To Book Your Senior Pictures

If you will need your senior pictures for your yearbook, you’ll want to have them taken the summer before your senior year or the autumn of your senior year. Do keep in mind that you should contact me as SOON as possible to schedule. I recommend booking at least 4 months in advance. In other words, you should ideally have your session scheduled by April or May of your junior year. However, I very often have clients pre-book their sessions as early as an entire YEAR in advance. This is because they want to make sure they secure a prime spot.

The Best Time of Year to Schedule Autumn Senior Pictures

Many of my clients ask “Which month IS a prime autumn time for senior photos?” If you’re looking for that perfect autumn foliage, then you should plan to have your session in mid-October to very early November. If you’re booking at the last minute and can’t get the date you want, there is also an option to book a sunrise session or mid-day session. In addition, you should also absolutely add your name to my waitlist.
