I had the most amazing time shooting Stella’s Boston Latin senior portraits! If you are new to my blog, welcome! I’m Christina Runnals, a senior portrait photographer specializing in photography that is light-filled and natural. I reside in Scituate, MA with my husband and two little boys. My blog is a place where I showcase all of my latest and greatest sessions! If you’d like to learn more about my senior portrait packages and book your own senior session, then head to the homepage of my website now.
Stella showed up with three killer outfits that perfectly captured her style. First, she wore light-wash jeans with a white short-sleeved blouse, giving off that effortlessly cool vibe. Then, she switched things up and slipped into a bright mauve corduroy dress, which looked stunning against the fading goldenrod in the background. And let me tell you, she nailed the final outfit too – light wash 90s straight jeans paired with a cream-colored chunky knit sweater. Totally cozy and chic!
But wait, it gets even cuter. Stella brought her adorable dog along for the shoot! I couldn’t resist capturing some shots of them together, and let me just say, they made for some precious moments.
We scheduled Stella’s session for early October, and boy, was it a perfect day. The beach was absolutely breathtaking, with golden grasses and the sun setting directly behind the dunes. It created this warm, dreamy light that made every photo feel magical. The fading goldenrod added a beautiful contrast with Stella’s mauve dress, making her stand out even more.
I have to mention Stella’s hair too. She has this gorgeous golden mane with a slight auburn tint, and it complemented the whole vibe of the shoot so well. The beachy, windswept look just added that extra touch of natural beauty to the photos.
All in all, shooting Stella’s Boston Latin senior portraits was an absolute blast. She rocked every outfit, brought her furry friend along, and the setting couldn’t have been more perfect. I feel so lucky to have captured these special moments for her, and I can’t wait to see where her journey takes her after graduating from high school.
If you will need your senior pictures for your yearbook, you’ll want to have them taken in the autumn of your senior year. This means that you will need to schedule your pictures a good amount of time before then. I recommend booking at least 4 months in advance. In other words, you should ideally have your session scheduled and your invoice paid by May or June of your junior year. However, I very often have clients pre-book their session as early as an entire year in advance! This is because they want to make sure they secure a prime spot.
A question I get all the time is: “What is the best time of year to take senior pictures?” Most girls prefer August or September. On the other hand, I personally prefer September or October! It’s consistently less humid, less sticky, and more golden :-). If you’re booking at the last minute and can’t get the sunset date you want, there is an option to book a sunrise session or mid-day session. You should also absolutely add your name to my waitlist.
