A Blast from the Past

Brad is a senior at Plymouth North High School, where he shines academically and shines even brighter on the baseball and lacrosse fields. Fun fact: I met Brad when he was just a second grader! I was his elementary school music teacher (yes, I spent 15 years serenading kiddos in public schools—another story for another day!). It feels like just yesterday I was photographing his older sister, Brooke’s senior photos two years ago, and now it’s Brad’s turn! We met at the gorgeous Cordage Park in Plymouth, which provided a unique backdrop—perfect for capturing Brad’s personality.

Scheduling Your Senior Pictures

Now, let’s talk about the nitty-gritty of scheduling senior pictures. If you need your stunning portraits for the yearbook, you’ll want to make sure you’re booked well in advance, ideally during the summer before or the autumn of your senior year. I always recommend reaching out to me at least four months ahead. This means you should ideally have your session lined up by April or May of your junior year. But hey, I even have some super-organized clients who book an entire year in advance! Why? To snag that perfect time slot, of course!

The Best Time of Year to Schedule Guy Beach Senior Photos

Many clients ask me when the ideal month is for senior photos. While high school seniors often prefer late July, August, or early September, my personal favorite is late September or October. The weather is perfection—less humidity, less stickiness, and far fewer unexpected thunderstorms. Plus, the golden light? Absolutely lovely. And if you’re in a bind, don’t fret! I offer sunrise or midday sessions, and you can always hop on my waitlist for a prime slot.
