Senior year is an exciting time filled with many memorable moments, and one of the most important ones is getting your senior pictures taken. These pictures will serve as a lasting memory of your high school years. Therefore, you want to make sure they are done right! Finding the best senior picture photographer in Massachusetts can be overwhelming, with so many options to choose from. In this blog post, I’ll guide you through the process of finding the perfect photographer for you.

1. Do Your Research

The first step to finding the best senior picture photographer in Massachusetts is to do your research. Start by asking your friends, family, and classmates who they used for their senior pictures. Look online for photographers in your area and read their reviews. Check out their portfolios to get a sense of their style and the quality of their work.

2. Consider Your Budget

Before you start contacting senior picture photographers in Massachusetts, it’s important to consider your budget. Senior picture packages can vary greatly in price, so it’s important to know how much you’re willing to spend. Keep in mind that the price of a package often includes the photographer’s time, talent, editing, and prints.

3. Look for An Experienced Senior Picture Photographer in Massachusetts

When choosing a senior picture photographer, experience matters. You want someone who has a proven track record of taking great senior pictures. Look for a photographer who specializes in senior portraits and has years of experience. An experienced photographer will know how to pose you, how to use lighting to your advantage, and how to capture your personality in the photos.

It’s also important to think about how you want your senior session to “flow.” Do you want to take photos in multiple locations? How about outfit changes? Do you want to include props? Make sure the photographer you choose can accommodate your vision.

When To Book Your Senior Pictures

If you will need your senior pictures for your yearbook, you’ll want to have them taken the summer before your senior year or the autumn of your senior year. Do keep in mind that you should contact a senior picture photographer in Massachusetts as SOON as possible to schedule. I recommend booking at least 4 months in advance. In other words, you should ideally have your session scheduled by April or May of your junior year. However, I personally often have clients pre-book their sessions as early as an entire year in advance. This is because they want to make sure they secure a prime spot.

The Best Time of Year to Schedule Your Session with a Senior Picture Photographer in Massachusetts

Many of my clients ask “Which month IS a prime spot for senior photos?” Overall, my high school senior ladies prefer late July, August, or early September for their pictures. On the other hand, I personally prefer late September or October! It’s consistently less humid, less sticky, less buggy, and more golden :-). If you’re booking with Christina Runnals Photography at the last minute and can’t get the date you want, there is also an option to book a sunrise session or mid-day session. In addition, you should also absolutely add your name to my waitlist.
