How to Choose a Photography Style for Your Family Pictures

There are so many styles of photography out there right now! Some styles of photography are dark and moody, while others are light and bright. My clients come to me looking for natural family pictures that are light, organic, and ethereal in quality. Many of my families are searching for beach portraits, naturally; we are, after all, on the coast over here! The best to achieve that natural look in your family pictures is to find an experienced photographer who can guide you to beautiful, candid moments.

Booking A Photographer for Natural Family Pictures

For your pictures, do keep in mind that you should request your session as soon as possible. I recommend booking at least 6 months in advance for June, July, August, and September dates, and 4-5 months in advance for October dates. I often times even have clients book as early as a year in advance to make sure they secure a prime spot! Because we live in New England, there are only so many months to take your pictures, right!? (That is… unless you want to be wearing snowsuits in your pictures ;-). If you’re booking at the last minute and can’t get the date you want, you can first check to see if I have any Piggyback Sessions available. Another option is that you could request a sunrise session. I can sometimes make time for an early morning session while my children are still sleeping.
