This particular session took place on a sunny, but windy and slightly chilly late May evening at the beach.

More About This Session

What to even say about this session, I just love it so much. As I said above, it was a chilly afternoon in May. New England weather is NEVER a sure thing unfortunately! (I personally hate planning my own family pictures for this exact reason. I usually plan a “cold day” set of outfits, and a “hot day” set of outfits.). Luckily, this family dressed for the weather, but baby Johanna was still a little chilly by the end! We wrapped her up in a little white blanket, and honestly, that blanket made the pictures even more gorgeous in my eyes. Johanna’s dad Jeff gets DAD OF THE YEAR in my book, he was just so good at playing games and being goofy. Playful, relaxed dads can absolutely make or break pictures in some cases!!

Sweet Moments

If you missed it, you must scroll up to see one of my favorite parts of the whole session – the yawn and ensuing belly laughs. Baby Johanna did a big huge yawn and absolutely cracked herself up. She and her beautiful mama just laughed and laughed. Capturing this sweet interaction was maybe one of my top moments as a photographer to date.

For your pictures, do keep in mind that you should request your session as soon as possible. I recommend booking at least 6 months in advance for June, July, August, and September dates, and 4-5 months in advance for October dates. I often times even have clients book as early as a year in advance to make sure they secure a prime spot! Because we live in New England, there are only so many months to take your pictures, right!? (That is… unless you want to be wearing snowsuits in your pictures ;-). If you’re booking at the last minute and can’t get the date you want, you can first check to see if I have any Piggyback Sessions available. Another option is that you could request a sunrise session. I can sometimes make time for an early morning session while my children are still sleeping.
