You guys, this is such a special senior session and I am so excited to share it! Firstly, if you are new to my blog, welcome! I’m Christina Runnals, a South Shore and Arlington senior portrait photographer specializing in photography that is light filled and natural. My blog is a place where I showcase all of my latest sessions!

If you’d like to learn more about my senior packages and book your own senior session, head to my homepage of my website now!

About the Session

I am so excited to share Eliza’s session because it was not a typical senior session for me. Typically my senior sessions take place the summer before my clients’ senior years. Eliza, however, had her senior pictures taken at the END of her senior year and I think it’s brilliant when seniors do this!!! Keep reading to find out why I think it’s such a great idea!

I know this sounds cliche, but Eliza really DID have the BEST personality, and obviously was gorgeous to top it all off!!! She is headed off to University of New England in the fall, and they are going to be seriously lucky to have her! Scroll to see a few of my favorites from her session!

The Next Location!

After we took pictures in my favorite little field, we headed off to the beach! Two of my senior packages include the use of two locations, my Sand Dollar package and my Light House package. As an experienced Arlington senior portrait photographer, I can tell you that two locations is a game changer if you want variety in your senior portraits! It really changes the whole look of your final gallery when you can see tons of different backdrops. We were all over the place at the beach! We found some sea grass, some fences, and finished off at the water.

Scheduling Your Yearbook Pictures in Your Junior Year

If you need your senior pictures for your yearbook, you will likely need to have them done by October of senior year for most schools. Do keep in mind that you should contact me as SOON as possible to schedule. I recommend booking at least 4 months in advance. In other words, you should ideally have your session scheduled and your invoice paid by May or June of your junior year. However, I VERY often have clients book as early as an entire year in advance! This is because they want to make sure they secure a prime spot. If you’re booking at the last minute and can’t get the date you want, you could email me about a sunrise session. I can often make time for an early morning session while my children are still sleeping :-).

Taking Senior Pictures at the End of Your Senior Year

If you want to be a genius like Eliza, and you don’t NEED a yearbook picture right away, wait until the end of your senior year to have your pictures taken! I recommend this for several reasons. Firstly, if you have your senior pictures taken at the end of May in your senior year, you will likely have your cap and gown. Wearing your cap and gown can make for THE cutest pictures. Secondly, you can use one of your photos on graduation announcements or party invitations! Thirdly, if you are attending a college in the fall, you can bring a banner from your future college and include it in your picture. And lastly, the end of your senior year is so fun and exciting, you will be in the best mood to take pictures and look carefree and amazing!
