Oh I am so excited to share this sweet newborn session with you all! Baby Otto FINALLY arrived, almost two weeks late! I was so thrilled to get the news, because I absolutely loved meeting Alex and Felicia at their gorgeous maternity session a few months back! If you are new around here, welcome to my blog! I am Christina, a Massachusetts newborn photographer specializing in light filled, beautiful candid moments.
As an experienced Massachusetts newborn photographer, I can tell you all about what a newborn session in your home is like! In my opinion, it is the absolute best way to have newborn pictures done. Firstly, you don’t have to get in the car to drive anywhere! That is already a huge bonus! Additionally, you spend your entire session in the comfort of your own home. This is a big plus for a new mom. After giving birth, you often need many personal and medical items within an arms reach- for yourself and your baby! The first few weeks with a new baby can be a stressful time. Because of this, it is nice to just know that everything you need is right there during your photoshoot, just in case!
For your newborn session, I recommend taking your photos primarily in your master bedroom and the nursery. You will need to prepare these rooms as best you can by clearing all clutter away. When I arrive, I will survey the scene! I will most likely move a few more things. Sometimes, I will even take items from other places in your house and move them to the rooms we are photographing in! As an experienced Massachusetts newborn photographer, I know exactly what will look l lovely in the background of your photos!
Pictures from a lifestyle newborn session will look very different than some other types of newborn photos! As a Massachusetts newborn photographer, clients often seek me out for a specific look to their photos. As you can see, my photos are light and natural. Almost all images from your newborn session will be candid, organic moments of you and your baby, or just your baby alone.
You have probably noticed that I do not pose the baby, but rather keep things very natural. I personally love this style of photography because of how well it captures the reality of life! This may sound funny, but even little things like having your own couch in a photo is special. I love looking back at photos of my childhood and seeing my parent’s old furniture! I also love this style for another reason. Think about how your baby will feel about his or her newborn pictures when they grow up. Will they LOVE a picture of themselves posed perfectly in a frog position, wearing a costume, sitting upon a lily pad or in a bucket or a tiny doll bed? Yes, that is so adorable in the moment LOL… but think about the long term. How much more special will these pictures be someday to your because they capture reality?? They will want to see you in the pictures with them, snuggling them, soothing them, and loving them. To me, that is so incredible and special!
If you are looking for a Massachusetts newborn photographer, firstly make sure you know what you are looking for in a photography style! Ask friends, use google search, search hashtags on Instagram. Then, when you’ve found someone who sparks your interest, make sure you check their website and social media to view their portfolio. Next, find out about their pricing and packages that they offer. Read their client reviews and feedback! Then, reach out to them and make sure they can fit your newborn session into their schedule.
