I am so in love with these gorgeous early spring Marshfield maternity pictures! We SERIOUSLY lucked out with the weather as you can see. Beautiful mama-to-be Felicia is comfortably wearing a sleeveless dress. On the beach. In early April, in New England!!!! Unheard of! If you are new to my blog, welcome! I’m Christina Runnals, a Marshfield maternity photographer specializing in photography that is light filled and natural. My blog is a place where I showcase all of my latest sessions and news. Keep reading for a few of my favorite maternity session tips and tricks!
For maternity sessions, I always recommend that clients wear a long flowy maxi dress in a neutral color. When a client books maternity pictures with me, I send off my client style guide. I even include links to ALL of my favorite “tried and true” photoshoot dresses for maternity shoots!! This beautiful dress is from NothingFitsBut, a store Felicia had never heard of until she saw a few of my dress recommendations! I am absolutely obsessed with the way the sun shines through it when it is blowing in the breeze.
When I arrived to our session I asked Felicia and Alex if they had ever had pictures taken before. They said they had had engagement and wedding pictures done, and that they definitely needed someone to tell them what to do! They were in luck lol, because as an experienced Marshfield maternity photographer, I am highly skilled at this! I give tons of instructions at my sessions. This is something you should definitely look for when choosing a photographer. Make sure your photographer knows how to pose you and will tell you what to do! At a session I did a few weeks ago, the family I was working with told me that they had done pictures a year ago with another photographer and that photographer gave them zero instructions. Yikes! Knowing how to pose people is so important.
One more side note- we were a little worried about the wind and Felicia’s hair. As you can see, her blowing hair ended up looking absolutely stunning. This is a trend that I have found in my photos; I always end up LOVING how windy sessions look, even though at the time of the session I’m always a little nervous haha! One thing you can bring to a session if you are worried about wind is a cute hat!
I hope you all love these maternity pictures as much I do, enjoy!

One of my absolute favorite parts of my job as a Plymouth senior portrait photographer is hearing what my clients have to say about their photos! Ella’s mom, Andrea said: Talented, organized, fun, creative, thoughtful… Christina is the best! I have always told my daughter she was born on a sunny day… and Christina captured that spirit with her bright and beautiful photos. Thank you! Thank you!
