Jurnee!!! Could she be any more gorgeous?! Jurnee lives in Boston and is a senior at Tabor Academy. I was so excited to have her come to the South Shore for her senior session! For her Tabor Academy senior pictures, we chose one of my favorite Scituate beaches along with a nearby field, giving us two completely different looks in one beautiful morning.
And yes, I said morning! We started Jurnee’s session at 9:30 a.m. This goes to show that you absolutely do not need sunset to create dreamy, glowy beach photos. The bright blue water, sparkling sunshine, soft beach colors and gorgeous light were SO good to us!
We started at the beach with Jurnee in the prettiest white sundress. It could not have been more perfect against the pale sand and blue water. I love a white dress for beach senior pictures. It feels timeless and effortless, but still photographs beautifully.
And this beach was showing off for us! The water was sparkling, the sky was that soft coastal blue, and the bright morning light gave everything such a fresh, airy feel. We photographed Jurnee walking along the shoreline, standing right at the water’s edge, and even lying in the sand for some of my favorite close-up portraits from the entire session.
Her white dress also gave us the perfect excuse to wander away from the water and into the beach grass. Suddenly the same outfit had an entirely different look… soft golden grasses, warm light and a little bit of that late-summer New England feeling.

Next, we headed to a nearby field, and I LOVE how different this part of Jurnee’s gallery feels. The tall golden grass, green trees and little pockets of sunlight created the dreamiest backdrop.
Jurnee changed into a soft blue-gray lace top with light-wash jeans, and the colors were absolutely perfect with the scenery. The cool tones in her outfit stood out beautifully against all of that warm golden grass, and the lace detail added just enough texture without competing with the surroundings.
We used everything the field had to offer, from the tall grasses to a gorgeous stone wall. I love how these images feel relaxed and natural while still looking completely polished. Also, Jurnee’s HAIR in this light?! Come on.
For her final look, she added a navy cardigan over a simple white top with her jeans, which gave us a slightly more classic, preppy feel. It was such a cute nod to her Tabor Academy style without making the photos feel like traditional school portraits. The navy, white and denim combination looked so crisp against the greenery and stone wall.

This is exactly why I love planning senior sessions around both location and wardrobe. Jurnee went from breezy white beach dress, to soft romantic neutrals in the field, to a classic navy-and-denim look…. and every part still feels like it belongs in the same gallery.
Her Tabor Academy senior pictures are also such a good example of how much variety we can create without driving all over the South Shore. A beach and a nearby field gave us ocean, sand, beach grass, golden fields, trees and stone walls all within one session.
And can we talk about Jurnee herself?! She is absolutely radiant. Every outfit, every location, every little over-the-shoulder smile… she made my job VERY easy.

If you’re looking for Tabor Academy senior pictures that feel a little different from the traditional senior portrait experience, you don’t have to stay right around campus! The South Shore has so many gorgeous options for creating a gallery that feels coastal, natural and completely personal to you.
Whether you live near Tabor Academy, in Boston like Jurnee, or elsewhere in Massachusetts, a Scituate beach session is absolutely worth the trip. And if you’re worried that you need to snag one of those coveted sunset appointments to get gorgeous light, let Jurnee’s 9:30 a.m. session be your proof that morning light can be pretty spectacular, too. ☀️The Best Time of Year for Beautiful Senior Pictures
If your school requires a senior portrait for the yearbook, you’ll want to plan your session for the summer before senior year or early fall of senior year. The most important thing to remember? Book your date as soon as possible! I recommend booking at least four months in advance – ideally by April or May of junior year. Many of my clients even use our priority booking system to reserve their session a full year ahead of time! Priority Booking means you’ll reserve your preferred month for senior portraits, place your deposit, and be officially guaranteed a spot during that month. Your exact session date will be selected in April.
