Golden Hour Glam with Despoina | Worcester MA Senior Pictures Photographer

January 11, 2026

What do you get when you mix high-fashion dresses, coastal golden hour, and a senior with superhero-level outfit change skills? You get Despoina’s epic session!! As a Worcester MA senior pictures photographer, I can confidently say this one had it all: sunshine, style, and SO much sparkle. 🌅✨

If you are new to my blog, welcome! I’m Christina Runnals, a Massachusetts photographer specializing in photography that is light-filled and natural. I work with seniors from all along the East Coast. I reside in Scituate, MA with my husband and two little boys. My blog is a place where I showcase all of my latest and greatest sessions! If you’d like to learn more about my senior packages and book your own senior session, head to the homepage of my website now.

A Consultation I’ll Never Forget

Despoina and her amazing mom Sabina made the trip all the way from Worcester to my Scituate studio for their consultation (a solid move when you’re looking for a Worcester MA senior pictures photographer who shoots on the coast). From the moment they walked in – twinning in bow-covered Anthropologie dresses and beaming smiles – I knew this session was going to be something special.

We dreamed up the ultimate beach shoot together, and I may or may not have begged Despoina to include the turquoise floral dress she wore to our consult. (She did. It made a repeat appearance mid-session and I’m still not over it.)

Despoina sits in a vivid pink embroidered mini dress, with golden light filtering through the grass during her senior beach portrait session on the South Shore. Captured during golden hour by Worcester MA senior pictures photographer Christina Runnals.

Sunset, Sand, and Superpowers

The session day delivered all the magic: cool ocean breeze ✅ golden grasses ✅ cotton candy skies ✅ and Despoina in full glow mode ✅

Let’s talk wardrobe. This girl pulled off SIX outfits in just 90 minutes… one of them twice. I’m not saying she’s part superhero, but I’m also not not saying it. 🦸🏼‍♀️✨ At one point, I half expected her to spin around and emerge in a new outfit like a vintage Barbie.

Here was the epic outfit lineup:

🤍 Outfit 1: A dreamy white halter dress with a flowing skirt and a bow detail at the waist. Perfect for that romantic, ethereal glow in the dunes.

💖 Outfit 2: A bright pink embroidered dress with a corset-style bodice and spaghetti straps. Bold, playful, and the ultimate pop of color against the beach grasses.

🤍 Outfit 3: An elegant off-the-shoulder white dress with sheer, ruffled sleeves… editorial, whimsical, and totally glowing in the sunset light.

👖 Outfit 4: A navy blue peplum tank paired with light-wash jeans – casual-cute perfection for golden hour lounging in the sand.

🥍 Outfit 5: A sporty-chic athletic set in heather gray (crop top + skirt combo), topped off with her lacrosse stick in hand. Because this Notre Dame Academy senior doesn’t just serve looks, she scores goals too!

👗 Outfit 6: A vibrant teal mini dress with not one, but TWO oversized bows. Fun, flirty, and totally giving “coastal couture.”

Style, Smarts, and So Much Joy

Aside from being a complete natural in front of the camera (obviously), Despoina is kind, grounded, and has the warmest energy. And Sabina? The ultimate hype woman. I’d hire her on the spot. I left this session with my heart full… and maybe a little sand in my shoes.

This shoot was the dreamiest mix of high-fashion, fun, and spontaneity. It was exactly why I love what I do as a South Shore and Worcester MA senior pictures photographer.

Soak Up Senior Year, Despoina!

Despoina, you were an absolute joy to photograph. Have the best senior year at Notre Dame Academy – on and off the lacrosse field! You’re going to shine so bright. 💙💫📸

The Best Time of Year for Beautiful Senior Pictures

Many of my clients ask me, “When is the best time of year for senior pictures?” Most of my seniors love late July, August, or early September. However, my personal favorite months are late September and October. The air is crisper, and the humidity and bugs have calmed down. Additionally, the chance of pop-up thunderstorms drops way down, and the light turns extra golden. This makes everything feel dreamy and effortless.

Scheduling A Worcester MA Senior Pictures Photographer

If your school requires a senior portrait for the yearbook, you’ll want to plan your session for the summer before senior year or early fall of senior year. The most important thing to remember? Book your date as soon as possible! I recommend booking at least four months in advance – ideally by April or May of junior year. Many of my clients even use our priority booking system to reserve their session a full year ahead of time! Priority Booking means you’ll reserve your preferred month for senior portraits, place your deposit, and be officially guaranteed a spot during that month. Your exact session date will be selected in April.
