Eileen’s Lexington MA senior pictures were everything I love about fall on the South Shore beaches – dreamy light, cozy coastal vibes, and the kind of fun that makes even a chilly, windswept morning feel warm. Eileen brought her effortless style, easy confidence, and sunshine personality to every frame. She turned what could’ve been sipmly a blustery morning into pure senior portrait perfection.
Welcome to my blog! I’m Christina Runnals, a South Shore senior portrait photographer who specializes in light-filled, natural, and joy-filled imagery. This space is where I share all the beautiful senior sessions I have the honor of capturing—from golden summer evenings to breezy fall mornings—so you can get inspired for your own dream session! If you’d like to learn more about my senior packages and book your own senior session, head to the homepage of my website now.
Meet Eileen, a senior at Lexington High School who instantly won me over during our virtual consultation. I could tell right away, she was totally my type of girl. Down-to-earth, fun, fashionable, and so kind. Eileen and her parents decided to add a family portrait to her session (such a popular choice for my seniors!). I couoldn’t wait to capture both her radiant personality and her sweet family all in one morning!

Okay, story time. We actually had to reschedule Eileen’s senior session twice thanks to that ever-unpredictable New England weather. When the big day finally arrived, Eileen accidentally thought the end time of her session was the start time…. and hopped in the car from Lexington just as I was arriving at the beach. OOPS!
But honestly, this is life. Things happen, and it’s never worth beating yourself up over it. Eileen called me when she realized her blunder, totally distraught and gushing apologies. I told Eileen not to stress one more second – we’d just move her session to the next morning. And we did! This is exactly why I always tell my seniors to bring their “anything goes” attitude to their session. Because truly, that mindset changes everything.

So, take two! We met the next morning at one of my favorite South Shore beaches (I have a whole list of spots I love depending on whether it’s sunrise or sunset. This is because light direction makes all the difference!). It was bright, breezy, and definitely chilly, but Eileen was an absolute rockstar. She never complained once and somehow made the morning look sun-soaked and warm.
Her first outfit was a dreamy strapless white dress with a blue floral pattern that looked straight out of a coastal fashion editorial. Despite the cold, she moved with confidence, and her laughter made every photo radiate joy.

For her second look, Eileen changed into light-wash jeans, a romantic white blouse with lace details, and the cutest cowboy boots you’ve ever seen. We moved to an area filled with tall grasses and autumn-hued trees that glowed in the morning light. The goldenrod had transformed into delicate, cottony seed heads that drifted through the air whenever we brushed past them. They were like little wisps of magic catching the sunlight. It felt utterly cinematic, as if Eileen were sitting in the middle of a fall daydream.

For her final outfit, Eileen wore a pale pink sundress that perfectly complemented her skin tone and the neutral tones of the sand. We found a lifeguard stand flipped on its side for the off-season, which made for such a fun, unexpected backdrop. It was something totally different and creative! We finished up near some weathered old fencing, and before we knew it, the session was a wrap.

This session was one for the books. Between Eileen’s grace under pressure, her easy laughter, and her ability to make anything look effortless, it’s no surprise these photos turned out absolutely stunning. Her parents couldn’t have been sweeter, and we had such a fun time capturing both senior and family portraits together.
Eileen, thank you for bringing your warmth, style, and humor to your session. You are truly such a light!
Many of my clients ask me, “When is the best time of year for senior pictures?”. Most of my seniors love late July, August, or early September. However, my personal favorite months are late September and October. The air is crisper, and the humidity and bugs have calmed down. Additionally, the chance of pop-up thunderstorms drops way down, and the light turns extra golden. This makes everything feel dreamy and effortless.
If your school requires a senior portrait for the yearbook, you’ll want to plan your session for the summer before senior year or early fall of senior year. The most important thing to remember? Book your date as soon as possible! I recommend booking at least four months in advance – ideally by April or May of junior year. Many of my clients even use our priority booking system to reserve their session a full year ahead of time! Priority Booking means you’ll reserve your preferred month for senior portraits, place your deposit, and be officially guaranteed a spot during that month. Your exact session date will be selected in April.
