Kelsi & Chloe’s Glowy September Beach Twin Senior Photos

October 25, 2025

When I first met Chloe and Kelsi at their senior portrait consultation at my Scituate studio, along with their sweet mom Jeannette, I immediately knew we were going to have a blast together. These two sisters radiate warmth, laughter, and beauty. I could already tell their beach twin senior photos would be absolutely stunning.

If you are new to my blog, welcome! I’m Christina Runnals, a Massachusetts photographer specializing in photography that is light-filled and natural. I reside in Scituate, MA with my husband and two little boys. My blog is a place where I showcase all of my latest and greatest sessions! If you’d like to learn more about my senior packages and book your own senior session, head to the homepage of my website now.

Kelsi and Chloe are seniors at Silver Lake High School in Kingston, Massachusetts. Both girls play basketball, and Chloe also happens to be an avid golfer! Between their busy schedules, we had to reschedule their session not once, but twice thanks to the ever-unpredictable New England weather. But when our third date rolled around (third time’s the charm!) we were rewarded with one of the most beautiful September evenings imaginable.

The Vibe: Late Summer Glow

The goldenrod were showing off, the dunes were glowing, and the sky looked like it had been painted just for us. September beach sessions are my favorite for exactly this reason. The warmth of summer, but with that little hint of fall softness in the light.

We started up in the dunes, where the tall grasses framed everything beautifully, and wrapped up down by the water just as the sky went all cotton-candy pastel. Basically, New England decided to apologize for the two rainouts in the most photogenic way possible.

The Looks: Effortlessly Coastal

These two nailed the styling. They started out in white dresses. Perfectly beachy, totally timeless, and full of that “we planned this, but it’s giving effortless” energy. Then they switched things up with light denim and white tops, which felt crisp and casual in the best way.

Chloe later changed into a navy top with white jeans (10/10 contrast moment), while Kelsi rocked a soft neutral top that blended beautifully with the dune grass. If you’re ever wondering what to wear for beach twin senior photos, consider this your inspiration board.

The Energy: Sister Goals

Shooting twins is always FUN! This is because there’s this unspoken rhythm that happens between them, and these two nailed it. They’d fall into matching poses without even realizing it, then break into identical laughter two seconds later. We chatted about basketball, senior year plans, and where they might head for college. The whole shoot just flowed.

My favorite shots? The ones where they’re walking hand in hand down the beach, glancing back with those easy smiles that say, “Yeah, we’re kind of killing it.”

The Finale: Sunset & Sand

We wrapped up with bare feet in the surf and the softest pastel skies behind them. One of those evenings where every frame just works. I could’ve kept shooting until the sun was completely gone, but I think we ended on the perfect note.

Kelsi and Chloe, you two were a dream to photograph. Thanks for braving the reschedules and trusting me to capture your beach twin senior photos magic.

The Best Time of Year for Beautiful Senior Pictures

Many of my clients ask me, “When is the best time of year for senior pictures?”. Most of my seniors love late July, August, or early September. However, my personal favorite months are late September and October. The air is crisper, and the humidity and bugs have calmed down. Additionally, the chance of pop-up thunderstorms drops way down, and the light turns extra golden. This makes everything feel dreamy and effortless.

Scheduling Your Beach Twin Senior Photos

If your school requires a senior portrait for the yearbook, you’ll want to plan your session for the summer before senior year or early fall of senior year. The most important thing to remember? Book your date as soon as possible! I recommend booking at least four months in advance – ideally by April or May of junior year. Many of my clients even use our priority booking system to reserve their session a full year ahead of time! Priority Booking means you’ll reserve your preferred month for senior portraits, place your deposit, and be officially guaranteed a spot during that month. Your exact session date will be selected in April.
