Gabrielle is a senior at Milton High School, and her beach session was nothing short of spectacular. If you’re searching for Milton MA senior pictures that include dreamy dresses, golden dunes, and a cotton candy sunset, this is the vibe. Gabrielle brought not one, but TWO flowy dresses (yes please!). Not only that, but her long blonde hair caught the breeze like it had a fan crew following us around. Basically? A photographer’s dream.
Hi there! I’m Christina Runnals, a Scituate-based portrait photographer specializing in light-filled, natural, and luminous senior pictures for joyful, fun-loving seniors all across New England (and beyond). I live by the beach with my husband and our two little boys. When I’m not chasing sunsets with seniors, I’m likely chasing Legos and snack requests. This blog is where I share recent sessions, photo tips, and outfit inspo.

I was thrilled when Gabrielle showed up with two dresses—it gives your gallery so much more variety and movement. Long dresses are always my favorite for beach sessions. This is because hey catch the light, move in the breeze, and add that extra editorial touch. Gabrielle’s soft blue floral dress paired beautifully with the grassy dunes, while her bold bubblegum pink dress popped against the ocean and sky. Two dresses = double the beauty.

If you’ve ever asked me when to book your senior photos, you already know the answer: September. The light is warm and golden, the skies turn every shade of peach and lavender, and the humidity? Gone. It’s the perfect recipe for beautiful images, smooth hair, and breathable outfits. For Milton MA senior pictures that feel effortless and glowy, nothing beats a September evening at the beach.

We photographed Gabrielle in both the dunes and by the ocean, perfectly timed to golden hour. Her long hair, those dresses, and that light…. it all came together in the dreamiest way. If you’re a senior looking for Milton MA senior pictures with soft, natural light and a relaxed, stylish vibe, I’d love to create something magical with you.
Gabrielle, you were such a joy to photograph. Thank you for embracing the wind, the waves, and both dresses like a total pro!

Many of my clients ask me, “When is the best time of year for senior pictures?”. While most of my seniors love July an August, my personal favorite months are September and October. The air is crisper, the humidity and bugs have calmed down, the chance of pop-up thunderstorms drops way down. In addition, the light turns extra golden – making everything feel dreamy and effortless.
If your school requires a senior portrait for the yearbook, you’ll want to plan your session for the summer before senior year or early fall of senior year. The most important thing to remember? Book your date as soon as possible! I recommend booking at least four months in advance – ideally by April or May of junior year. Many of my clients even use our priority booking system to reserve their session a full year ahead of time! Priority Booking means you’ll reserve your preferred month for senior portraits, place your deposit, and be officially guaranteed a spot during that month. Your exact session date will be selected in April.
