Chloe’s September Senior Portraits at the Beach

September 22, 2025

As a Milton Massachusetts photographer, I live for session’s like Chloe’s. This Notre Dame Academy senior kicked off her 9:30 AM September portraits with me at one of Scituate’s gorgeous beaches. Morning light, ocean breeze, and Chloe’s effortless style made this session one for the books.

If you are new to my blog, welcome! I’m Christina Runnals, a Massachusetts photographer specializing in photography that is light-filled and natural. I reside in Scituate, MA with my husband and two little boys. My blog is a place where I showcase all of my latest and greatest sessions! If you’d like to learn more about my senior packages and book your own senior session, head to the homepage of my website now.

Outfit One: Casual & Coastal

We started with Chloe in jeans and a white eyelet tank, a classic look that never fails. She looked amazing walking barefoot along the shoreline and leaning against a sun-bleached fence, with the ocean sparkling behind her. Her bright smile, glowing skin, and easy laughter made photographing her effortless. As we captured these portraits, we chatted about her favorite hobbies, her plans for college, and the lip gloss I immediately wanted to buy. Sessions like this remind me why senior photos on the South Shore always feel so special.

Outfit Two: The Dreamy Dress Moment

Halfway through, Chloe used my trusty pop-up tent and changed into a gorgeous Hill House Home dress. The flowy white fabric with its floral windowpane pattern looked breathtaking in the morning light. It caught the breeze beautifully and stood out perfectly against the beach grasses, fences, and sparkling waves. Chloe twirled, laughed, and made every shot look natural and effortless. As a Milton Massachusetts photographer, I love when an outfit transforms a session and takes it to an entirely new level.

Why September Morning Sessions Shine

Chloe’s portraits are a perfect example of why I recommend September mornings for senior sessions. The light is golden and soft, creating flattering photos without harsh shadows. Temperatures feel crisp but never cold, making it easy to relax. Beaches are quiet, which means no distractions and no crowds. The sand is still warm enough to go barefoot, which always adds a natural, carefree vibe. And those September skies, combined with late-summer flowers, create backdrops that feel like pure magic. If you’re looking for senior photos in Hingham, Scituate, or anywhere on the South Shore, September mornings never disappoint.

Congrats, Chloe!

Chloe, photographing you was such a joy. You were radiant, fun, and full of life, and I loved every minute of your session. Congratulations on your senior year at Notre Dame Academy! I’m so excited to see where your college journey takes you. Sessions like yours are exactly why being a Milton Massachusetts photographer is such an incredible job—I get to celebrate these once-in-a-lifetime milestones with amazing seniors like you.

The Best Time of Year for Beautiful Senior Pictures

Many of my clients ask me, “When is the best time of year for senior pictures?” While most of my seniors love late July, August, or early September, my personal favorite months are late September and October. The air is crisper, the humidity and bugs have calmed down, the chance of pop-up thunderstorms drops way down, and the light turns extra golden – making everything feel dreamy and effortless.

Scheduling Your Milton Massachusetts Senior Pictures

If your school requires a senior portrait for the yearbook, you’ll want to plan your session for the summer before senior year or fall of senior year. The most important thing to remember? Book your date as soon as possible! I recommend booking at least four months in advance – ideally by April or May of junior year. Many of my clients even use our priority booking system to reserve their session a full year ahead of time! Priority Booking means you’ll reserve your preferred month for senior portraits, place your deposit, and be officially guaranteed a spot during that month. Your exact session date will be selected in April.

Christina Runnals is a nationally published and award-winning Massachusetts senior portrait photographer who specializes in taking photographs that are light-filled, natural, glowy, and full of joy!
