Meet Maeve! She lives right here in Scituate and is a senior at Notre Dame Academy in Hingham. She showed up to her session at Museum Beach with her mom, Christina, who doubled as her hype squad for the evening. And here’s the cool part: both of Maeve’s older siblings had their senior portraits taken at this very beach, so keeping the tradition alive was a no-brainer. If you’re on the hunt for a Scituate MA senior picture photographer, this spot is one of my go-tos!
If you are new to my blog, welcome! I’m Christina Runnals, a Massachusetts photographer specializing in photography that is light-filled and natural. I reside in Scituate, MA, with my husband and two little boys. My blog is a place where I showcase all of my latest and greatest sessions! If you’d like to learn more about my senior packages and book your own senior session, head to the homepage of my website now.
Maeve started things off in a long white sundress, and let’s just say it was chef’s kiss against the dunes and shoreline. We got those classic sitting-on-the-rocks shots, some dreamy walking-along-the-water poses, and even a little twirling because, well, when your dress flows that perfectly, it’s practically mandatory. Add in the golden sun and coastal breeze, and the vibe was equal parts effortless and editorial.

For round two, Maeve switched it up with light-wash jeans and a navy top. It was the perfect casual-but-polished look for senior portraits. We played around with poses in the tall grasses, a few relaxed shots sitting in the dunes, and some candid laughs that showed off her personality. Totally different vibe than the sundress, but equally perfect.

Museum Beach checked every box for Maeve’s session. With scenery this good, all we had to do was mix in some fun poses, lots of natural smiles, and a splash of that senior-year excitement.

Maeve’s session was the perfect blend of tradition, style, and fun. She looked amazing, her mom was the best sidekick, and we had the dreamiest late-summer light. Not a bad way to kick off senior year at Notre Dame Academy. Sessions like this are exactly why I love being a Scituate MA senior picture photographer. The beach NEVER disappoints!
Many of my clients ask me, “When is the best time of year for senior pictures?” While most of my seniors love late July, August, or early September, my personal favorite months are late September and October. The air is crisper, the humidity and bugs have calmed down, the chance of pop-up thunderstorms drops way down, and the light turns extra golden – making everything feel dreamy and effortless.
If your school requires a senior portrait for the yearbook, you’ll want to plan your session for the summer before senior year or early fall of senior year. The most important thing to remember? Book your date as soon as possible! I recommend booking at least four months in advance – ideally by April or May of junior year. Many of my clients even use our priority booking system to reserve their session a full year ahead of time! Priority Booking means you’ll reserve your preferred month for senior portraits, place your deposit, and be officially guaranteed a spot during that month! Your exact session date will be selected in April.
