If you’re searching for a senior photographer near Northborough MA, don’t feel like you have to stick to your own backyard. I’m based in the beautiful seaside town of Scituate, about 90 minutes from Northborough – and seniors like Hannah (and their amazing moms!) regularly make the trip to work with me. Why? Hannah’s Session

Hannah, who lives in Northborough and attends Algonquin Regional High School, decided to turn her senior session into something extra special. She and her mom, Alexandria, turned the whole thing into a little mother-daughter getaway. They booked an overnight stay at an inn in Scituate the night before her shoot, got a quick blowout at a local salon, explored the town, and walked into their session the next morning feeling calm, prepared, and excited. It was the perfect start to a magical shoot!

Why Scituate and 9:30 AM Are a Picture-Perfect Combo

We scheduled Hannah’s session for 9:30AM – a time I love shooting on the beach. While golden hour has its moody charm, this late-morning light gives you bright, clean images with vivid blues in the sky and water, soft shadows, and a true-to-life color palette. The weather that day totally delivered: puffy white clouds, an ocean that practically glowed aqua, and a crystal-blue sky that added so much depth to every single shot.

For clients coming from out of town – whether it’s Northborough, MetroWest, or beyond – this time of day is ideal. You can settle in the night before, get plenty of rest, and wake up ready to go without rushing or dealing with unpredictable evening weather.

Let’s Talk About These Outfits 😍

Hannah showed up with an incredible lineup of outfits that gave her gallery such variety and personality:

• A flowy lavender eyelet dress that moved beautifully in the breeze (and was basically made for twirling barefoot in the sand).
• A white puff-sleeve mini dress, which gave a soft, romantic feel and looked so dreamy against the sunlit water.
• A pale blue mini dress with ruffle sleeves, for a sweet, summery vibe that popped against the shoreline.
• And a white eyelet tank paired with light-wash denim jeans for a casual, coastal look that worked perfectly near the lifeguard stand.

Her style was relaxed but refined – exactly the kind of energy that works so well for beach portraits.

Capturing Joy, Confidence, and a Bit of Adventure

What stood out most about Hannah’s session was how natural and joyful she was in front of the camera. She laughed, strolled barefoot through tide pools, smiled like the sunshine itself, and truly embraced the moment. Whether she was striking a serious pose or cracking up mid-walk, her energy was just the best.

We even incorporated some classic beachy elements like the lifeguard stand and fences, which added a fun, coastal New England touch to her final gallery.

Scheduling Your Senior Pictures

If you will need your senior pictures for your yearbook, you’ll want to have them taken the summer before your senior year or the autumn of your senior year. Do keep in mind that you should contact me as SOON as possible to schedule. I recommend booking at least 4 months in advance. In other words, you should ideally have your session scheduled by April or May of your junior year. However, I often have clients pre-book their session as early as an entire YEAR in advance! This is because they want to make sure they secure a prime spot.
