I’m excited to share this gorgeous Duxbury MA family photography session with the Donoghue family at Duxbury Beach in November! For those of you who are new to my blog, I’m Christina Runnals. Unexpected November Sunshine

November in New England can be hit or miss, but this day was a beautiful exception! Most days in mid-November leave us shivering in heavy coats. However, we were blessed with warm weather that made the beach a perfect spot for this session! I do always recommend to clients during this chilly season to have an extra set of outfits ready—just in case. But the Donoghues totally lucked out with perfect weather and didn’t need them! Phew!

A Gift of Memories 

This family is all about love! Kevin planned this portrait session as an anniversary gift to Jessica. I couldn’t help but feel my heart melt when I learned that. Living in Duxbury meant they naturally chose their beautiful local beach for the backdrop. Their choice of outfits was spot-on—everyone looked amazing in soft neutrals, while Jessica’s rust-colored, flowy dress brought just the right pop of color. The golden tones of the seagrass in November provided the ideal complement to their style!

The Dynamic Duo

Now, let’s talk about the real stars of the show at this Duxbury MA family photography session: the two adorable sisters! At ages 4 and 6, they brought energetic personalities that made every moment fun. Little sister was spunky and adventurous, while big sister was the sweet, gentle keeper of the peace. Their unique traits were beautifully captured on camera, and I can’t help but smile when I think of their antics!

A Moment of Laughter 

One of my favorite moments came when little sister decided it was fun to sit on Mom’s shoulders while running her fingers through her hair. The resulting photographs? A mix of sweetness and pure comedy! I think we hit the jackpot with silly poses that are bound to be family favorites for years to come.

As the session wound down and the sun began to dip in the sky, the light turned golden, creating a stunning backdrop for candid shots of the girls frolicking near the water’s edge. We also had to sneak in a few lovely photos of Jessica and Kevin together—it was their anniversary celebration, after all! 

A Memorable Experience

For your pictures, do keep in mind that you should request your session as soon as possible. I have two pieces of advice for you. Firstly, I recommend booking at least 6 to 8 months in advance for August and September dates. Secondly, I recommend booking 4-5 months in advance for July and October dates. I often have clients book as early as an entire year in advance to make sure they secure a prime spot! Because we live in New England, there are only so many months to take your pictures, right!? (That is… unless you want to be wearing snowsuits in your pictures ;-).

Last-Minute Photography Session Booking

If you’re attempting to book a Duxbury MA family photography session at the last minute and can’t get the date you want, you have some options. Firstly, you can first check to see if I have any Beach Piggyback Sessions. Next, you can check to see if there are any Fall Piggyback Sessions available. These Piggyback Sessions are 30-minute sessions that occur before another session I have already planned. I love these short and sweet sessions!
