I am bursting with excitement to share Lily’s stunning beach sunset senior photos! For those of you who don’t know, Lily is a senior at Norwell High School in Norwell, MA. Not only is she an academic superstar, but she also carves up the slopes as a member of her school’s ski team. If you’re new around here, welcome to my blog!  A Family Affair

I first met Jessica, Lily’s mom, during her son’s senior photo session two years ago. When I found out I’d be photographing Lily, I couldn’t contain my excitement! If you think Jessica and her son are amazing, wait until you meet Lily. She has a personality to match her brilliant smile, which truly lights up the whole place. Honestly, she made my job feel more like hanging out with a friend than a photoshoot.

Strike a Pose

Lily kicked off her session in a stylish navy tank top and good ol’ jeans. We headed to a sandy area adorned with trees and seagrasses that swayed in the breeze. One of my all-time favorite shots was when Lily laid down amidst the sea grass—how the golden light wrapped around her was simply breathtaking! I felt like I had stumbled into a scene straight out of a photo magazine.

Outfit Change!

Next up, Lily switched into a classic white tank top (keeping those jeans, of course—go for that effortless look!). We explored the nearby sea grass, posed by a rustic fence, and ventured to the water’s edge. I must say, watching her twirl and giggle while running around made for some fantastic action shots. With a sunset splashing hues of orange and pink across the sky, the evening felt surreal.

 A Dress to Impress

Finally, she transformed into an adorable short white cotton dress that flowed beautifully in the breeze. As an experienced Norwell MA senior photographer, I always tell my clients to incorporate this type of dress into their session! Lily’s twirls and playful moments in the sand? Pure perfection! I have to say, those candid shots of her sitting in the sand ended up being both her favorites and mine. Spending that summer evening with Lily and Jessica was an absolute blast. Congrats on your senior year, Lily!

Planning Your Own Senior Session

As an experienced Norwell MA senior photographer, I will give you my best advice. If you’re gearing up for your own senior picture needs (especially for that all-important yearbook), it’s best to schedule your session in the summer before your senior year or during the fall of your senior year. I recommend reaching out to me as soon as possible—ideally, four months ahead. You’d be surprised; many clients even book their sessions a year in advance to snag that prime date!

The Best Time of Year to Schedule A Norwell MA Senior Photographer

When it comes to picking the perfect month for senior portraits, I’ve noticed the majority of high school senior ladies lean towards late July, August, or early September. But personally? I’m a big fan of late September or October! The weather tends to play nicer—less humidity, fewer bugs, and a lower chance of thunderstorms. And let’s not forget those beautiful golden tones in the fall light. If you find yourself booking last minute and your preferred date is gone, don’t worry—I have options to make it work!
