Ah, senior picture season—the time when high schoolers trade in their textbooks for a little glamour, a sprinkle of fun, and a whole lot of personality in front of the camera! This year, I had the absolute pleasure of working with the stunning Lily, a soon-to-be graduate from Wellesley High School in Massachusetts. If there was ever a poster child for the phrase “life of the party,” it’s her! I’m seriously so excited to share her Wellesley Massachusetts senior pictures with you!
If you are new to my blog, welcome! I’m Christina Runnals, a senior photographer specializing in photography that is light-filled and natural. I reside in Scituate, MA with my husband and two little boys. My blog is a place where I showcase all of my latest and greatest sessions! If you’d like to learn more about my senior packages and book your own senior session, head to the homepage of my website now.
Alright, back to Lily. Lily is the definition of a social butterfly, thriving on the energy of friends, live events, running, and even sweating it out in cycling classes. Yes, she is more than just a pretty face; she’s got a zest for life that radiates from every smile (and believe me, she had plenty of those!). Accompanying her for her special day was her mom, Kristin, who might just be the most enthusiastic cheerleader ever!
We kicked off Lily’s session, known as The Sunshine Package—because who doesn’t want a little sunshine in their life?—on a steamy mid-August morning at a breathtaking beach in Scituate, Massachusetts. As I met up with Lily and Kristin, it was clear that this dynamic duo was already bubbling with excitement. We had exchanged ideas and outfit inspirations during our virtual consultation, and I couldn’t wait to see it all come to life on the beach.
Now, let’s talk outfits. Lily started out her Wellesley Massachusetts senior pictures session by rocking the most adorable white romper—an absolute showstopper. If there was a competition for the happiest person on the beach that day, Lily would have taken home the gold medal! After a whirlwind of shots in the romper, she whisked away into my pop-up changing tent (seriously, isn’t that thing a lifesaver?) and emerged in a flowing long white sundress from L Space. Talk about a transformation! We splashed in the waves, twirled on the shore, and captured some magical moments among the beach grasses.
In a fun twist, Lily decided to throw on a chunky knit sweater and jeans despite the 85-degree heat (fashion over comfort, am I right?). But honestly, those five minutes on the wooden beach ramp turned out to be pure gold—some of Lily and Kristin’s favorite shots from the session!
Then, it was time for a change of scenery! As the Sunrise Package gives you 1.5 hours of shooting time, we hopped over to a picturesque grassy field nearby. Lily changed into a lovely lacy tank and jeans, and I captured some gorgeous shots. But let’s be real—the long white dress was definitely our favorite! We frolicked in the grass, posed by a giant tree, perched on a stone wall, and struck fun poses by a classic white fence. Every photo was more stunning than the last!
Working with Lily and Kristin was a dream—it felt more like hanging out with friends than a photoshoot. Their kindness, humor, and of course, Lily’s natural beauty made my job an absolute delight. I must say, I hit the jackpot with this client!
And just when I thought the day couldn’t get any better, Kristin sent me the sweetest text after they saw the pictures. “Omg!! I am lost for words!! Lily’s pics are gorgeous – I’ve had to sit in my car for the last ten minutes to catch my breath 😂 thank you from the bottom of my heart.” If that doesn’t warm your heart, I don’t know what will! There’s nothing I cherish more in my work than knowing I made my clients happy.
All in all, Lily’s senior shoot was one for the books—full of laughter, stunning outfits, and unforgettable moments. Cheers to Lily and all your future adventures! The world is waiting for you! 🌟
If you will need your senior pictures for your yearbook, you’ll want to have them taken the summer before your senior year or the autumn of your senior year. Do keep in mind that you should contact me as SOON as possible to schedule. I recommend booking at least 4 months in advance. In other words, you should ideally have your session scheduled by April or May of your junior year. However, I often have clients pre-book their session as early as an entire YEAR in advance! This is because they want to make sure they secure a prime spot.
Many of my clients ask “Which month IS a prime spot for senior pictures?” Overall, my high school senior ladies prefer late July, August, or early September for their pictures. On the other hand, I personally prefer late September or October! It’s consistently less humid, less sticky, less buggy, less chance for sudden thunderstorms, and more golden :-). If you’re booking at the last minute and can’t get the date you want, don’t worry, there is also an option to book a sunrise session or mid-day session! In addition, you should also absolutely add your name to my waitlist.
Would you like to hire Christina Runnals as your own senior portrait photographer? Then you can book your session now, or find out more about a senior portrait session with Christina Runnals Photography! You can even view all of my pricing and package options here! Hope to hear from you soon!
