Hey everyone! I’m super excited to share the fantastic experience I had capturing Bailey’s senior photos at the beach! Bailey is a fun-loving senior at Campbell High School in Litchfield, NH. Bailey is a cheerleader and in her free time truly treasures time with her family and friends. Her mom, Ria, joined us for the session, and we all had such a great time together! If you are new to my blog, welcome! I’m Christina Runnals, a New Hampshire senior photographer and Massachusetts senior photographer specializing in photography that is light-filled and natural. My blog is a place where I showcase all of my latest and greatest sessions!
Bailey’s session was scheduled for mid-October. October can be a bit unpredictable weather-wise here in New England. Luckily, we struck gold with a gorgeous and warm day! As we kicked off the session, Bailey sported the cutest short blue floral dress, making her stand out beautifully with the sandy backdrop and tall sea grasses. We spent about 15 minutes shooting Bailey in her blue dress.
As an experienced New Hampshire senior photographer I could tell Bailey was most excited for her white dress. So was I!! So, we decided to do an outfit change. When Bailey slipped into that beautiful dress, it was pure magic! We captured some truly epic shots of her standing in the waves, with hilarious moments where she had to run from the crashing surf to avoid getting soaked. Those waves were definitely making a splash that day!
One of my favorite things about the beach in October is seeing the beautiful golden rod flowers popping up everywhere. They added a stunning burst of yellow to our photos, and we couldn’t resist getting shots by a rustic fence surrounded by these lovely flowers. The bright blooms against the blue sky created a picture-perfect scene – it was simply wow! As an experienced New Hampshire senior photographer I can tell you that these special beachy flowers only bloom from late September to mid- October. Therefore, plan your session accordingly if you’d like the golden rod around for your pictures!
To finish up our session, we headed to a lovely field away from the ocean, where Bailey twirled and walked through the sea grass and golden rod, with the sun setting behind the dunes. It was such a dreamy moment, and I just loved capturing her joy in those beautiful surroundings.
Overall, Bailey’s senior photo session was an unforgettable experience filled with laughter, great vibes, and beautiful memories. I’m so grateful I got to share this special day with Bailey and Ria. Cheers to new adventures ahead for Bailey! 🌟.
If you will need your senior pictures for your yearbook, you’ll want to have them taken the summer before your senior year or the autumn of your senior year. Do keep in mind that you should contact me as SOON as possible to schedule. I recommend booking at least 4 months in advance. In other words, you should ideally have your session scheduled by April or May of your junior year. However, I often have clients pre-book their session as early as an entire YEAR in advance! This is because they want to make sure they secure a prime spot.
Many of my clients ask “Which month IS a prime spot for senior pictures?” Overall, my high school senior ladies prefer late July, August, or early September for their pictures. On the other hand, I personally prefer late September or October! It’s consistently less humid, less sticky, less buggy, less chance for sudden thunderstorms, and more golden :-). If you’re booking at the last minute and can’t get the date you want, don’t worry, there is also an option to book a sunrise session or mid-day session! In addition, you should also absolutely add your name to my waitlist.
