The Coggins Family | By Scituate MA Family Photographer Christina Runnals

I recently had the pleasure of capturing the Coggins family during a delightful beach mini session in Scituate, Massachusetts, on a stunning September morning. Scituate, known for its charming seaside vibe, provided the perfect backdrop for our time together. If you are new to my blog, welcome! I’m Christina Runnals, a Scituate MA family photographer specializing in creating images that are luminous and full of joy. My blog is a place where I showcase all of my latest sessions. If you’d like to learn more about my family portrait packages and book your own family session, simply head to my website.

About the Session

From the get-go, Stephanie, the lovely mom, brightened the scene in her pink gingham dress, while Dad Erik looked effortlessly cool in a white casual tee paired with gray shorts. Little Sydney, just three years old, stole our hearts in her adorable pink sundress, and baby Logan, at just one, melted hearts in his tan polo t-shirt and neutral shorts. It was wonderful to see the family coordinate, bringing both style and warmth to our session.

This was my third shoot with the Coggins family, and each time has been a joy. I’ve truly loved watching them grow and thrive as individuals and as a family unit. The bond they share is evident, and it helps create such a relaxed atmosphere during our sessions.

To keep the energy high and the little ones engaged, we splashed around in the waves and played fun games. As many parents know, when kids are this little, it’s unrealistic to expect them to pose perfectly for long—those moments of sincere smiles are often fleeting. Instead, I always encourage parents to focus on having fun, playing, and being present. Stephanie and Erik truly excel at this! Their playful energy and laughter resonated throughout the session, making it easy to capture genuine moments.

I can’t wait to share these images with them, as I hope to reflect the joy and spontaneity of that lovely day. The warmth of the sun, the sound of the waves, and the laughter of the Coggins family created a beautiful tapestry of memories that I was privileged to document. Here’s to more adventures and capturing more milestones as this wonderful family continues to grow!

Stay tuned for more highlights from my beach sessions!

Booking A Scituate MA Family Photographer

Would you like to book Christina Runnals for your own family portraits? Book your session, or find out more about a family session with Christina Runnals Photography!

For your pictures, do keep in mind that you should request your session as soon as possible. I recommend booking at least 6 to 8 months in advance for June, July, August, and September dates, and 4-5 months in advance for October dates. I often have clients book as early as an entire year in advance to make sure they secure a prime spot! Because we live in New England, there are only so many months to take your pictures, right!? (That is… unless you want to be wearing snowsuits in your pictures ;-).

Last-Minute Photo Session Booking

If you’re booking at the last-minute and can’t get the date you want, you can first check to see if I have any Beach Piggyback Sessions or Fall Piggyback Sessions available. Another option is that you could request a sunrise session. I can sometimes make time for an early morning session while my children are still sleeping.

Hope to hear from you soon!
