Welcome to Christina Runnals’ blog, where I share my favorite images from my latest sessions.  I recently had the pleasure of photographing a beautiful lifestyle newborn session featuring triplets! The session occurred in Hingham, Massachusetts. If you are looking to find out more about triplet newborn photography and newborn sessions, then you can visit my website here. I am in love with these images and hope you love them as well!

Triplet Newborn Photography Details

Courtney and Sean were so excited to capture some beautiful moments with their little trio. Mom Courtney looked stunning in her long white dress with embroidery detail. Sean wore a checkered button-down shirt with very light khakis from Lulu Lemon. The triplets stole the show in white swaddles edged with pink or blue.

Courtney and Sean were hoping to take photos in the nursery and their master bedroom. Luckily, both rooms were gorgeous and sundrenched spaces. Therefore, we were able to capture some truly stunning images of the triplets in their new space. For triplet newborn photography, having good light in a room is of the utmost importance for newborn photos!

More Thoughts on Triplet Newborn Photography

There are a few things that you should consider when taking portraits of triplets.

Birth Order

Be sure to find out the birth order of the triplets. If possible, place them in this order in their photos together. Try to create a slight difference in the swaddles of each baby. For instance, I use my stretchy swaddles underneath the triplet’s white swaddles, which peeked out a tiny bit and helped me to distinguish each from the others. Penelope had a white swaddle underneath, Beau a blue swaddle, and Harper a pink swaddle.

Swaddling and Sleepiness

Multiples will typically be nice and sleepy for their newborn portraits. This is because they almost always arrive early, and are in that very sleepy phase for a good long while! So

Get Creative (or Not) With Posing

Hunter Mae stayed soundly asleep, giving us plenty of opportunities to capture her in different poses and settings. From close-up shots of her tiny hands and feet to candid shots of her snuggled up with mom and dad, every moment was captured beautifully.

One of the things that struck me most during the session was the deep love and connection between this new family. It was clear that Emma and Mark were over the moon with their new arrival. Hunter Mae was content and comfortable in their arms.

Overall, the session was an amazing experience. I feel honored to have been able to capture these precious moments for this sweet family. These images will be treasured for years to come, and that makes me so happy! I look forward to seeing Penelope, Beau, and Harper grow and thrive in the years ahead.
