The Zeller Family

I am so excited to share the Zeller family’s beautiful extended family photoshoot today! If you are new to my blog, welcome! I’m Christina Runnals, a Massachusetts photographer specializing in light and natural family portraits. I live in the town of Scituate with my two little boys, Callan and Ryan, and my husband Dan. My blog is a place where I share my favorite images from all of my sessions. This session was beyond fun and I hope you enjoy seeing my favorites from the afternoon!

More About the Session

This extended family photoshoot was SO fun! The Zeller family all converged on Scituate for their annual family vacation. Three families came from all over the country – Indiana, Chicago, and Raleigh! We really lucked out with the weather for this session. Early April can be totally hit or miss in Massachusetts. We ended up with a 50-degree day with plentiful sunshine and little wind, which is honestly far more than we could have hoped for. Phew!

How to Plan An Extended Family Photoshoot

If you are the designated planner of an extended family photoshoot, you will need to be organized. This is because there are a lot of moving parts to an event like this. Firstly, you’ll want to find a photographer who will guide you in how everybody should dress. Secondly, if anyone from your group is coming in from out of town, you’ll want to ensure that your photographer schedules a date as well as a backup date for your group. I can’t stress that part enough!

Booking an Extended Family Photoshoot

Would you like to book Christina Runnals for your own family portraits? Book your session, or find out more about a family session with Christina Runnals Photography! You can even view all of my pricing and package options here!

For your pictures, do keep in mind that you should request your session as soon as possible. I recommend booking at least 6 months in advance for August and September dates, and 3-4 months in advance for October and November dates. I often times even have clients book as early as a year in advance to make sure they secure a prime spot! Because we live in New England, there are only so many months to take your pictures, right!? (That is… unless you want to be wearing snowsuits in your pictures ;-). If you’re booking at the last minute and can’t get the date you want, you could email me about a sunrise session. I can sometimes make time for an early morning session while my children are still sleeping. And little ones are typically much happier at sunrise sessions than sunset sessions!

Hope to hear from you soon!
