I am so excited today to share Lennon’s adorable first birthday portraits! If you are new to my blog, welcome! I’m Christina Runnals, a Massachusetts photographer specializing in light and natural family portraits. My blog is a place where I share my favorite images from all of my sessions. This first birthday session was beyond cute! With Lennon’s birthday smack in the middle of winter in New England, I suggested to her mother that we go the indoor route. Lennon’s mom suggested her own mother’s house because of it’s open airy space and plentiful windows. When I arrived, I immediately knew it was perfect! I loved meeting Lennon, she is seriously such a cutie. We began with simple photos of Lennon playing with toys and pretty paper snowflakes, and about halfway through we threw a cupcake into the mix!

More About the Session

We took Lennon’s pictures at noon because she wakes up from her first nap around 11:30. Noon is totally a doable time to take pictures if you are taking them indoors with plentiful windows. Noon, however, would not be a time I would recommend for outdoor first birthday pictures! In the summer and early fall, I take all of my milestone pictures outdoors in the early morning hours- typically around 7 AM.

Lennon’s cupcake of choice? The lemon drop cupcake with lemon filling from Cupcake Charlie’s in Plymouth. As you can see, she really loved it!
