I’m so happy to finally be sharing these beautiful Boston Public Garden family portraits with you all! If you are new to my blog, welcome! I’m Christina Runnals, a Massachusetts family photographer specializing in creating images that are light filled and full of joy. My blog is a place where I showcase all of my latest sessions. I was so excited when Ashley contacted me about this session. Her family was coming in from Ohio for a vacation. She wanted their portraits taken to commemorate her and her husband’s anniversary. They got engaged once upon a time in the public garden- and so did I!! So naturally, I was thrilled to do this session. I would love to show you some of my favorite images from the session!

More about the session

I was so excited for the Smith family’s session! Ashley and I did a zoom call to discuss outfits, and she already had so many amazing ideas in mind. We scheduled our session for the early morning. We did this for several reasons. Firstly, if you are going to take your family portraits in a crowded place, early morning is going to be the least crowded time of day. Secondly, it’s no secret to most parents that toddlers and young children are typically at their best in the morning! (And crankiest in the evening). I was glad that we chose this time, because I think the bridge shots would have been tricky later in the day.

For your family pictures, do keep in mind that you should try to contact me as SOON as possible to schedule. I recommend booking at least 6 months in advance for summer and fall sessions. I often times even have clients book as early as a year in advance to make sure they secure a prime spot! If you’re booking at the last minute and can’t get the date you want, you could email me about a sunrise session. I can often make time for an early morning session while my children are still sleeping :-). Hope to hear from you soon!
