I’m Christina Runnals, a Boston light and airy photographer specializing in creating images that are light filled and full of joy. My blog is a place where I showcase all of my latest sessions. The Smith’s family’s session took place in Sherborn, Massachusetts in early May at a beautiful field. A few trees were just beginning to flower and the sunlight was perfect. This was my first venture to Sherborn for a photoshoot! I live quite a ways away from it, so I don’t imagine I’ll be back often, but it was certainly gorgeous!!

What to Wear for Light and Airy Family Portraits

I would love to talk a little bit about what to wear for light and airy family portraits. It’s very important to dress a certain way to nail the light and airy style. The reason I would like to address this topic is because the Smith’s absolutely crushed it with their outfits!!!!! Notice that there is not a single item of clothing they are wearing that is dark in color. This is very important if you are hoping for light and airy pictures. One of the best parts of my job as a Boston light and airy photographer is getting to hear what my clients think of their experience and their photos. I couldn’t WAIT to give the Smiths a sneak peek of their session, because if you can believe it, their little Josephine was a bit cranky for most of our session LOL! (Ahem, see the last picture to get an idea of what Emily was expecting every photo to look like) I told Emily, Josphine’s mom, that she was going to be *pleasantly* surprised when she saw the pictures, and she definitely was! Emily said: “I am DYING!!!! You are incredible!” Yay!!! I love my clients’ reactions to seeing their photos, they truly make my day!!! For your family portraits, do keep in mind that you should try to contact me as SOON as possible to schedule. I recommend booking at least 4 months in advance for summer and fall sessions. I often times even have clients book as early as a year in advance to make sure they secure a prime spot! If you’re booking at the last minute and can’t get the date you want, you could email me about a sunrise session. I can often make time for an early morning session while my children are still sleeping :-). Hope to hear from you soon!
