I absolutely loved meeting these sweet new parents and their new little bundle, Amelia! As a Scituate newborn photographer, it’s always especially a pleasure to meet families in my very own town! Amelia was the sleepiest little lady for her session, and her parents were absolutely over the moon in love!
If you are expecting a baby and are looking for a Scituate newborn photographer, visit my website to find out more about my newborn sessions. You can even book your session right on my website, and you will hear from me within 24 hours!
Many of my clients looking for a Scituate newborn photographer contact me because they have come across my lifestyle newborn shoots. A lifestyle newborn session in your home is the perfect way to capture the most precious memories of your new baby in a relaxed way. This type of session is a great way to highlight a beautiful nursery or to include siblings or special pets. During these lifestyle sessions I use gentle and relaxed posing, which allows for natural connection and capturing authentic interactions with your new baby.
If you have a lot of natural light in your home and light colored walls, your home may be perfect for a lifestyle newborn session! In addition, I recommend that you have white bedding on your bed and white or light neutral crib sheets in the nursery. As an experienced Scituate newborn photographer, I am happy to speak to you about whether your home would be a good choice for an in-home session or not! Typically, I am able to make any setting work.
In my opinion, sessions in your own home are so very special. This is because you and your child will look at these pictures someday and see how rooms in your home *actually* looked. We will document you and your family doing things you *actually* did at the time. Sessions in your home are incredibly organic and natural! On the other hand, newborn sessions in a studio have a totally different vibe. It all depends on what you are looking for!
As a Scituate newborn photographer, I would love to let you know more about the planning process for a session!
As soon as you’ve decided you’d like to book your session with me, fill out the booking form. I recommend reaching out to me as early as possible to make sure I have space available. I will send you an invoice and contract, you’ll need to pay the deposit (50%) in order to secure your spot. Then, you’ll let me know when your baby arrives so we can schedule your exact session date!
After you’re booked, I will send you my Newborn Session Guide that will give you all the tips and tricks you will need to know to have a stress-free session, including what to wear, colors that photograph beautifully, how to prepare your spouse and other children, and how to prepare your home. We will chat by phone, text or email about outfit ideas and hair & makeup artist recommendations should you need them.
Your session will take place in your home 1-2 weeks after your baby has arrived. I can bring several items upon request, including a Moses basket and a white stretchy wrap. Both items are completely optional to use for your newborn pictures!
I carefully edit your images in my signature bright, light, and airy style with the latest high-end editing software. Within 2-3 weeks, your images will be emailed to you in a private online gallery where you can easily download them or order prints and products!
For your baby’s newborn session, I suggest a long flowy dress for mom. This is because this type of dress is incredibly flattering to the female figure. I have several favorite places to purchase this type of dress! I love the websites Baltic Born, Vici Collection, and I also love Asos. If you are self conscious about certain parts of your body keep that in mind! For me, I am self conscious about my arms, so I prefer dresses that cover my arms! In addition, I recommend light, neutral colors for your session. These colors photograph beautifully, and will also not cast odd colors onto your skin. I will help you to choose your wardrobe, and you will also have access to my amazing online styling program.
As a Scituate newborn photographer for the last 5 years, I have heard alllll the questions! I would love to share with you some of my most frequently asked newborn questions, and do my best to answer them all!
Yes. After your session, I will edit your images in my signature light and natural style. You will receive a link to a beautiful online gallery of your images. These images are all in high resolution and you may download them at any time.
As an experienced Scituate newborn photographer, I am honored to be in quite high demand. Therefore, I always suggest you book a session with me well in advance of your due date. I limit my newborn sessions to five due dates per month. However. Because of the nature of newborn sessions being during the daytime hours (vs. in the evening when my outdoor sessions typically take place), I do have some wiggle room. You should absolutely reach out to me even if you didn’t schedule your session ahead of time! I can often take a last minute newborn client if the stars align!
Yes! I am honored to have clients from all over the state and the east coast reach out to me! I do charge a fee to travel further than 15 miles from Scituate. You will be able to view all of my travel fees when you go to book your session.
For your newborn session, I will bring along a few items. I will bring a white swaddle should we need it. Upon request I can also bring a beautiful Moses basket! I will also bring along a few other newborn tricks of the trade.
Soft pastels and light & neutral colors photograph seamlessly with my light and natural photography style. Once you confirm your booking, I will send you a complimentary style guide. This guide will take you through the whole process and help you to coordinate your wardrobe. I want you to look your best so that you can cherish your portraits for a lifetime! For baby, I recommend a white or light colored swaddle.
I will gladly wrap your baby up. I do not overly pose your newborn; instead, I let him or her settle organically to produce the most natural images.
Every photographer has their own way of doing things! My lifestyle newborn sessions begin at $550*. You can view the three packages I offer and decide what best suits you and your family!
Certainly my most booked package is my Lifestyle Newborn package. This package is 2 hours in length and you will receive 50 edited images in your online gallery. You also will be able to choose between a fine art linen photo book or a $50 print credit! As an experienced Scituate newborn photographer, my advice is that if you are first time parents you should choose a 2 hour session. I have had MANY a new mama tell me, mid-session, how relieved they are that they chose the two hour session! Indeed, I’ve had one or two new mama clients who weren’t even ready to BEGIN their session until I had already been there an hour! New motherhood is full of unexpected twists and turns!! Having a full two hours will set you at ease and allow you to fully relax.
Your pet is a special part of your family, so I am happy to incorporate them into your session! I recommend planning for your pet to be at the first part of your session and then having a friend take him/her somewhere else, or keeping the dog at home but away from all the action. We won’t use the pet in every single photo so it’s also nice to have a friend available to hold him or her in between shots. If you’re going to incorporate a pet, I recommend exercising your pet before the session and having your pet’s favorite toy or treats handy! Depending on your pet’s fur type, it might also be a good idea to groom them before the shoot and have a lint roller nearby to keep your clothes looking fresh.
